Months that past by like eh blink of an eye!

Sam's farewell.

Don't be dismayed at goodbyes.  A farewell is necessary before you can meet again.  And meeting again, after moments or lifetime, is certain for those who are friends.  ~Richard Bach

Leonard's surprise birthday

Happy blessed birthday, my dear friend! (:

I have been really busy with birthday parties and farewell celebration. To be honest, life has been really tough for me but God has been helping me out. He never leaves you nor forsake you. Hebrews 13 : 5 says, Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,
“Never will I leave you;
  never will I forsake you.”

I'm suppose to finish my nutrition course by this month and I only have a week left. And I've 4 segments to finish, I'm currently at segment 2. :( Do keep me in prayer. Thank you for taking your time off to read. Will keep you guys updated soon.

7 Reasons, Why You Should Keep A Journal.

7 Reasons Why You Should Keep a Journal

Journal writing can be used as a powerful tool to help you accomplish your goals and objectives in life. Most people who are truly successful, engage in some form of journalizing. Here are 7 reasons you will want to keep a journal.

1. Journal writing helps you clarify and solve problems. Let's say for example, that some nights when you get home from work you feel extremely fatigued. By journaling, you discover that the fatigue occurs on the days that you skip lunch and that by eating regular meals you can prevent the extreme tiredness.

2. Journaling is a way to keep your ideas and dreams alive until you can put them in motion. You may wake up in the middle of the night with a brilliant idea on how to earn extra money from home. Thankfully you have your journal on the nightstand so you can write down your money making idea. Many great ideas are lost because they were never written down.

3. Writing in a journal is a great way to help you discover your God-given destiny. What desires do you have on the inside of you? What talents do you have? What are your goals? What would your dream life look like? Write it down. As you read through your journals regularly you will see certain patterns emerge and it will give you insights into your calling.

4. Journal writing helps you remember important information. As you read books and listen to CD's you will learn things that can help you succeed in your role as a wife, mother, entrepreneur etc. but the fact is- we only hold on to about 20% of what we read. Writing it down and reading it regularly will insure that you can retain and use this beneficial information.

5. It helps you organize thoughts that may be cluttering your mind. For example you may have an idea of how you want to decorate your house in a green and yellow leaf theme and because you don't want to forget your great idea, you keep mulling it over in your head. If you write your ideas in a journal, then you can come back to them later. This will free your mind to focus on other things.

6. Journal writing helps you assemble your thoughts and express yourself when an opportunity presents itself. If you have written about a particular subject in your journal, it will be a lot easier to comment about it. Whether you are writing a letter to your sister or participating in a church Bible study, you will be able to communicate intelligently about the subject that's being discussed.

7. Your journal can be a source of encouragement and motivation- write down compliments you received, goals you have reached, or good things that happened to you.

Journal writing is an effective means to help you achieve your God-given destiny but it will only work if you regularly write down the things that are important to you and read through them often. Why not buy a journal and get started today?

How to be confident: 10 Ways To Build Self - esteem

How to Be Confident: 10 Ways To Build Self-esteem

Do not let a lack of self-confidence prevent you from living a fulfilling life and accomplishing your God-given destiny. Low self-esteem has its origin in fear. It is a tool used by the devil to stop you from being effective as a Christian and it manifests as depression, confusion, indecisiveness and lack of faith.

Low self-esteem comes as a result of focusing on the wrong things. If you choose to focus on negative circumstances-the bills that are due, your faults and shortcomings, not to mention the 6 o'clock news-you will be seriously depressed in a short amount of time. Here are 10 ways to boost self-esteem and have a faith-filled outlook on life:

1. Spend time giving God heartfelt praise. This puts your focus on Him and releases your faith in His ability to help you succeed.

2.Stop comparing yourself to others. God made you unique and you can never be your best when you are trying to be like someone else.

3. Meditate on scriptures that have the answers to what you want in life. This will cause you to expect good things.

4. Consistently speak positive, faith-filled words. You can not think negative thoughts while you are speaking positive things out of your mouth.

5. Don't say or think critical things about others. If you do, you may assume that others are criticizing you behind your back-not one of the best ways to build self-esteem.

6. Write out a vision for your life. Proverbs 29:18 says that people with no vision will perish. A vision will give you focus and cause you to be excited about life.

7. Learn to laugh at yourself when you make a mistake. Look at it as a learning opportunity rather than a reason to beat yourself up.

8. Exercise regularly. A good cardiovascular workout causes the brain to release chemicals that lead to feelings of well-being and a more positive outlook on life.

9. Look your best. Wearing stylish clothes that flatter your figure and getting your hair styled is a great way to improve self-esteem.

10. Laugh, have fun and hang out with positive people.

Low self-esteem will hinder or stop you from fulfilling your God-given destiny. Take whatever steps are necessary to renew your mind and get rid of inferiority. Choose to walk by faith and be the confident person you were meant to be.

13 June 2011: Monday, Day 1 in Jakarta, Indonesia

Hi CI Readers!!

We have arrived safely in this beautiful country of Indonesia. The culture and the people here are so different. They live such a simple life & they have such a big smile on their faces. Their simplicity taught me to be grateful and satisfied with the things I have. I have everything I need, and yet I complain & compare with others, never thanking God for it. So, from today onwards, I would like to be grateful and thank the Lord for everything He has provided and given to me. (:

Mr Konner telling a story in a "Space Ship" designed building in Jakarta

Today we had our first Children Institute in a big space ship. It was fun and cozy! Anyway, I'm supposed to share on design, so here it goes. I taught the kids about design and how we're all so different. God made each and everyone of us unique and special in our own way. I gave an example on how each of our thumb prints are not the same. Then I made each of them stamp their thumb prints on a piece of paper to make them realize how creative our God is and much detail He puts even in the little things.

I shared my personal story with the kids of how God taught me about design. When I was twelve years old, I got eczema, a skin allergy. As I grew up, I started to question God, of all people, why me? There were times when I didn't want to see anyone because of what they said. It was very hurtful. Because of that, one day, I decided to pray for people to get eczema, hoping that they will be more understanding. But obviously, God didn't answer my prayer. Praise God for that, because I had the wrong
mindset.

Until today, I still have eczema and I have been learning so much about design and other character qualities through this experience. The Lord has humbled me and taught me to love others for who they are, and this experience taught me to be more understanding..

It taught me to rely on God at the same time because there were no medication or cure for it. It also drew me closer to God. When I was 14, I felt the Lord calling me to do missions and guess what! My skin allergies has opened so many doors for me to share my life and Christ with others.

God can use us, if we are willing to be used by Him. Accepting who I was in Christ was never easy. It's a daily decision. The little steps we take can make a whole lot of difference in the future! We don't always see the big picture in the beginning. But the beautiful part is, it teaches us to rely and draw closer to God in prayer, knowing that He is in control at the end of the day.

Taddaaa. That's what I shared with the kids. And oh, do keep us in prayer! Pray that God will use us to share what He want us to share with the kids and that it may it be about Him and not us. Please keep us in prayer. Thank youuu!

God bless,
Debs.
