Does God have a precise "will" for every decision we make, or are we to seek His will only for major decisions and use our won common sense for minor decisions?
To illustrate the answer to this question, see if you can detect, in the following situation, which decision were major and minor decision.
Situation one.
A man got up in the morning and had the choice of wearing one of two different types of ties. One was a clip-on tie; the other was a standard tie. He chose the standard tie.
- Major Decision.
- Minor Decision.
The man with a choice of ties was a police officer. His chief had encouraged him to wear a clip-on tie. The day he decided to wear the standard tie, he was attacked while a mking an arrest. The assailant grabbed his tie and choked him to death. Had the officer worn a clip-on tie, this would not have happened. Thus, his decision, while it seemed small, turned out to be major.

Based on the fact that we must give an account of every deed we do, ( 2 Corinthians 5:10) Every word we speak, ( Matthew 12:36) Every thought we think, (2 Corinthians 10:4-5), and every attitude we express (1 Peter 3:10-11), there are no small decisions.
Our purpose for discerning the will of God is to make sure that every decision will glorify Him. He is not glorified by our natural inclinations, because our ways are not His ways.
